A unique show, Surreal Gastro Theatre is all set to render a medley of immersive theatre and exquisite dining experience.

Belcanto Restaurant at Dubai Opera is set to host the immersive show “SURREAL GASTRO THEATRE” from November 21, 2023, to March 8, 2024, featuring a total of 68 performances. The show presented by WHAT ELSE makes its Dubai debut, boasting an immersive theatre and exquisite dining.

Here’s the enticing twist: every guest plays an integral role in this captivating performance. It’s a tale of love and passion set against the backdrop of Belcanto’s bohemian atmosphere. A detective love story, this enticing mystery is divided into ten segments, with each character

serving as both witness and perpetrator at the same time. Discover each character’s darkest.

secrets through an unforgettable experience as you engage all senses, from the striking visuals to tempting aromas and distinctive flavours.

The cast, dancers, models, and waiting staff wear elaborate themed costumes, with some wearing floor-length black gowns and masks, signifying the depersonalisation of identity.

“The What Else Project is more than just a dinner or lunch,” says the founder and creative director of the show, Victoria Strekalina, who has been awarded in Moscow on multiple occasions. “It is art that touches all our senses and allows guests to immerse themselves in an exciting world of flavours, aromas and fascinating stories.”

Strekalina’s work has been rewarded on multiple occasions for national awards in the events industry, such as “Golden Puzzle” in 2020 and 2021, “Event of the Year” award, and “Brand Awards,” “Wow Awards,” and “Fair Business Awards” through nominations for the best gastronomic show.

In keeping with the noir storytelling, the show takes place at Dubai Opera’s Belcanto rooftop restaurant, which carries European styling and aesthetics, including wood, emerald greens, red cordovan hues, heavy velvets, and a striking crystal chandelier.

The show unfolds not only on stage but also on the plates of each visitor as each chef will present a five-course culinary masterpiece with six hints that are tied to the captivating detective story. As an example, one of the segments of the story features a forgotten actress paired with a dish presented on a clock moving backwards, a symbol of her fleeting fame.

The upcoming dining experience is presented by the culinary duo consisting of Italian chef Fabrizio Lusenti, currently the Head Chef of “Belcanto Restaurant,” and Mika Tolkachev, the Executive Chef at FIVE Hotels & Resorts. In addition to working with renowned chefs, Lusenti has worked with three-star Michelin restaurant chef Enrico Bartolini. As for Tolkachev, in just two years, he has expanded the culinary experience at FIVE Hotels & Resorts with four prime outlets and amassed over five awards.

“WHAT ELSE” was the first chain to introduce the concept of surreal gastronomic shows in

Russia, and it will be the first to bring this unique experience to Dubai. “Who is the Murderer?” is the latest in a series of immersive gastronomic extravaganzas from the franchise following the success of “Phantasmagoria in Black,” “The Bar That Doesn’t Exist,” and “Stories of a Hotel.”

each of which has become a phenomenon in the Russian cultural landscape, featuring renowned actors from theatre and film, including The Voice and Dancing on TNT finalists.

Visitors can purchase the tickets on Platinumlist.
