Located in the heart of Downtown Dubai, the much-awaited TOTÓ has officially opened its doors in partnership with some of the most renowned names in sports – tennis legend Rafael Nadal, LA Lakers champion Pau Gasol and football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. This newest Italian hotspot, opening daily from 12pm, invites guests to immerse themselves in two passions that define Italy: cuisine and cinema.
Inspired by the golden era of Italian cinema of the 1950s and 60s, when movies became a form of lifestyle, TOTÓ pays homage to the legendary film, Cinema Paradiso, which portrays the love of theatre post-war as a means of escapism. Located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Blvd in Downtown Dubai, TOTÓ warmly welcomes guests to a rustic luxury setting featuring elegant wooden floors, an exceptional selection of artwork, décor, and accessories that effortlessly balance the spirit of classic Italian cinematography within a chic Dubai setting. Complemented by warm and cosy lighting accentuated by dark wood, it creates the perfect ambiance for unwinding and sharing a meal with loved ones.
Guests can indulge in a variety of Italian-Mediterranean dishes, each of which is a tribute to traditional recipes and cooking techniques that have been passed down through generations. Every dish served at TOTÓ is thoughtfully prepared by culinary maestros, led by the celebrated Chef Angelo Santi. With over 25 years of culinary expertise spanning across Italy, Moscow and beyond, Chef Angelo’s genuine passion for Italian cuisine is matched only by his talents as a multifaceted artist. Drawing inspiration from unique sources including music, composition, painting, and photography, his unparalleled creativity, dedication, and culinary skills guarantee guests a memorable gastronomic experience. Joining Chef Angelo is the critically acclaimed Pizzaiolo and World Champion, Chef Vincenzo Palermo, who holds two Gambero Rosso awards. With a passion for pizza from a young age, Vincenzo started his culinary journey at 20, studying in Italy and perfecting his craft worldwide. In 2018, he won the World Pizza Competition, beating 850 professionals. His Moscow pizzeria was named one of Europe’s top 50 in 2019.
Diners can feast on popular dishes from TOTÓ Madrid including: Burrata Pugliese served on tomato carpaccio and garnished with basil pesto; Vitello Tonnato, thinly sliced white veal in a creamy tuna sauce; Parmigiana di Zucchine, zucchini mille-feuille with tomato sauce and grated Parmigiano; and Carciofi alla Carbonara, charcoal-braised artichoke flowers with duck carbonara for starters. For mains, guests can choose from mouth-watering classic Italian options such as La Carbonara, rigatoni pasta with duck guanciale and pasteurized egg york; Spigola Grigliata, grilled seas bass served with smoked vegetables; Polpo alla Brace, grilled octopus served with olive tapenade and potato purée; and Orecchia di Elefante, breaded veal short loin served with rosemary potatoes and rocket salad. To finish on a sweet note, guests can savour decadent desserts including Tiramisù TOTÓ, Burrata Cheesecake, and authentic Italian gelato, transporting them to the quaint streets of Italy.
TOTÓ also boasts an impressive open kitchen where guests can see the art of preparing authentic hand-tossed pizzas cooked in the pizza oven, complete with various delectable toppings. Diners can also observe an elaborate pasta-making process that highlights the skills, passion, and dedication behind each dish. Complementing the culinary delights, guests are invited to sip on premium grapes and unique cocktails from the venue’s impressive wine and cocktail bar. The extensive drinks menu includes a special and exclusive import of Aurea Gran Rosé from Frescobaldi, along with classic cocktails, spirits, and signature Mediterranean-inspired beverages. Guests will be able to enjoy live music and performances by TOTÓ’s resident DJ every week from Thursday to Saturday, further elevating the dining experience.
